The 0-3 years warning symbol indicates that a toy is not suitable for children under 36 months. Download the symbol in SVG, PNG and PDF and learn when and how the warning must be used.

When is the 0-3 years warning symbol required?

The warning is used for toys that could be dangerous for children under 36 months but are suitable for older children. Under EU toy safety rules, the warning must be accompanied by a brief indication of the specific hazard requiring the age restriction.

For example, a toy containing small parts may require a warning that it is not suitable for children under three years because of a choking hazard.

Which toys need the 0-3 years warning?

The warning can apply to toys intended for children aged three and over where a specific characteristic makes them unsuitable or unsafe for younger children. Examples can include toys containing small parts that present a choking hazard.

The warning must not be used to circumvent safety requirements that apply to toys that are actually intended for children under 36 months.

How should the warning be displayed?

The age warning may be expressed using the 0-3 years pictogram or appropriate wording. Where the warning applies, the specific hazard that makes the toy unsuitable for children under three must also be stated.
