What Is a Declaration of Conformity for Toys?

The EU Declaration of Conformity is the manufacturer's formal declaration that a toy complies with the applicable EU requirements. It identifies the toy, the manufacturer, applicable legislation and the standards or specifications used to demonstrate conformity.

When Is a Declaration of Conformity Required for Toys?

A Declaration of Conformity must be drawn up before a toy is placed on the EU market. It forms part of the toy's conformity documentation and supports the CE marking applied to the product.

What Should the Declaration Include?

The declaration should contain the required product and manufacturer information, product identification, applicable EU legislation, relevant harmonised standards or other specifications, and the name and signature of the person authorised to sign on behalf of the manufacturer.
